Squish Lighting Installation
In February 2020 I created a set of sculptural lighting pieces that I transported unassembled from Wisconsin to Hawaii and installed within an event theme camp called Squish. The overall structure was created by a larger crew, and after assembling my pieces I worked with two other collaborators to hang them in the space. All the pieces for this event are my original designs – the large “SQUISH” front sign, a 44″ wide dragonfly wall sconce, and six hanging flower pendant lanterns – and all laser cut from wood and hand-finished naturally with my recipe of coffee, tea and iron oxide. The LED lighting within the lanterns is a combination of remote-controlled bulbs, string lights, and outdoor rope lighting.
